Graduate Immigration Route Eligibility
Student will be qualified for the UK’s Graduate Immigration Route if:
- Earned a degree at the undergraduate level or above at a qualifying UK Higher Education Provider in summer 2021 or later
- Have a track record of obedience
- Have a valid Tier 4 UK student visa when you submit your application
Sadly, you will not be eligible if you graduate and your Tier 4 visa expires prior to the introduction of the Graduate Immigration Route.

Commencement date of UK graduate immigration route :
Students entering the UK in the intake of academic year 2020-21 will be qualified for this route. This route was declared in September 2019 to make sure that universities, colleges, students planning for the subsequent academic year are aware of this amendment and could feature this as part of their plans.
Students who graduate and leave expires before the route is launched will not be eligible for it, although, the majority of these students will have had no hope of benefitting from such a route when they applied to study in UK.
Type of UK post study work visa
The validity duration is two years and would be a separate visa, requiring a new application (including payment of a visa fee) and payment of the Immigration Health Surcharge. The exact visa fee will be set out in due course.
Extension of Work Visa after the two years
The route is non-extendable and does not count towards settlement. Although, graduates who find an suitable job and meet the requirements will be able to change into skilled work, which is a route to settlement.
