The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a North-American test and os one of the most widely utilised exams to test the potential of the candidates to study and excel in an English -Speaking University. The TOEFL iBt (Internet Based Test) and TOEFL PBT (Paper Based Test) are quite different when it comes to availability and access. The PBT is lesser available as it is more expensive, offline and tougher to evaluate, transport and access. Both the exams have a major difference in their content. PBT has a duration of 2 hours and 25 minutes .It comprises of 3 sections and is provided in the area where internet is not available. PBT also doesn’t require the integrated tasks which are required by iBT. In iBt version of the test, the applicant gets a performance based feedback for each skill in the final report which is missing in PBT.
TOEFL Internet Based Test as introduced in 2012 and is most prominent and preferred test mode by most of the International Institutes and is currently chosen by 96% of the appearing candidates. TOEFL IBT is evaluated by four parameter which are: Reading, Writing. Listening and Speaking. Every section has a score of 0-30 which has a maximum score of 120 points. There are mandatory 2 tasks in Writing and 4 tasks in Speaking. You will be able to see your TOEFL score report for free after 15 business days after giving your exam. The length of the test has gradually gone shorter from 4 hours to 3 hours over the years. The test must be completed in one session and if you quit the test without finishing it, you’ll have to re-register yourself-and pay the amount yet again.The test scores are valid for upto 2 years. Hundreds of million of dollars have been invested by ETS to conduct the TOEFL IBT.
In order to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), you need to have passed in 10+2 from any recognised Indian Board or University. However, the candidate must acquire a valid ID proof which should showcase the citizenship and the test location given to the candidate. It is mainly required for the registration process.

Immediately after this you’ll receive a confirmation mail. Pick a date for the test and the test centre you prefer and once approved, your registration process will be all done. Four universities might be selected where the TOEFL score is to be sent .Also, more universities can also be added once you pay 20 USD extra for each university.
